Good night sleep, fresh outlook, more morning Polish practice and we are ready for a better day. I got the map out and we decided to be tourists today. We took the metro to the old city and enjoyed a walk around the most beautiful part of Warsaw. After going the wrong way on the metro ;) we got headed in the right direction and found a little pizza place for lunch. After lunch we of course had to stop for Lody (ice cream) and a walk through the rebuilt old city. Since Warsaw was 90% decimated after the war, the entire old city was rebuilt from pictures, paintings, and memories to look exactly the way it had before the war. We found the town square, the pigeons (that the boys love to chase) and some great buildings. We also found a beautiful place to walk and hang out where there are stores and music and a closed off street. I think this will be a good place for visitors to come see (hint hint ;) After this we headed home because we were supposed to go to our sponsor’s house for dinner. I was trying to make bruschetta, but had a little trouble with my oven…soggy bread, burnt tops…grrr… luckily Hanna and Chuck had a fabulous meal for us. We enjoyed spinach lasagna, jambalya, salad, wine, and pumpkin pie for dessert. Their boys and our boys hit it off and did very well together. A much better day all around. Yeah!
