Then we saw the dominoes that were set up to represent the wall for the celebration.
We walked the whole length of the wall. What an amazing experience to see the changes from just a short twenty years. The Brandenburg gate was the center of it all.
The kids had a treasure hunt list that they had to find of all the key spots in Berlin, the next one on their list was the Holocaust Memorial
The next day we hit Legoland and the Wall
The weather was bad and Noah was getting sick, so we had to take it easy...
Here was a communist era car and Tom has to get his picture with one or two...
And a little stop by Checkpoint Charlie for a step back in time...
And what was across the street from Checkpoint Charlie??? Thats right, Starbucks...something we have not seen since moving to Warsaw...it was good, but not as good as I had imagined it would be after six months without it!
Despite a fever for Noah, rain and cold we got to see some of the ceremony at the Brandenburg gate...once we saw Noah had fever though, we hopped in the taxi and watched the rest from our hotel room. The boys are still tough to travel with (because they whine and complain a lot) but we had a pretty awesome trip and on the way home were driving 160 per hour (yah it was KM, but it was still really fast!)
